The big thing this book appears to have going for it is that its audience has a defined set of interests. That’s important, since magazines that are specific to a single technology tend not to last very long. But I wonder about the business model. Not many vendors sell products specifically to bloggers/podcasters and the target readers tend to find tools of the trade for free where they can. They don’t have big budgets. Also, while bloggers/podcasters have a medium in common, they don’t share much else. The similarities between me and the guy who writes Daily Kos are few.

On first look, I can’t see much reason why this magazine should last very long, but I give credit to the publisher for giving it a try. You never know when you might hit it big.

Blogger & Podcaster magazine has launched simultaneously in print, online and as a podcast.
