Yahoo to Offer Unlimited E-Mail Storage – washingtonpost.com

Yahoo will lift the cap on e-mail storage. David Filo tells the Washington Post, “We are giving them no reason to ever have to delete old e-mails.”

I’ve worked with people who kept thousands of e-mails in their inbox. I always wondered how they could manage such chaos. I guess I was the misguided one. It was just a matter of waiting for technology to catch up with their organization style :-).

  1. Paul, you are not the misguided one. Why keep junk? If they feel free to keep all old emails, that will spill into other parts of their lives. I train people on how to manage email. It’s better to delete (or trash) first.

Email overload is the mess that’s packed in the Inbox, not the new messages coming in. There is no good reason for keeping the Inbox screen past one scroll. You’ll know you haven’t: let work slip, broken some promises; or missed important deadlines.
